Good news. But I wonder what percentage of a roof needs to be covered for there to be a meaningful reduction in heat absorption. I'd guess that our 26-panel, 5.59 kW system covers up to 60% of our south facing roof. But the other 40% is really soaking up the heat big time and I'm guessing that that heat is transferred into our attic which becomes extremely hot despite the panels.

I must say i was a little leary of all hype occurring around solar. After investigating numerous programs and buy options my spouse and i decided to make the leap. We wound up getting solar without any money down and we immediatly started saving cash the very first month is was installed. I have to admit the primary advantages of solar appear to be real and I am happy we made a decision to proceed with it.

Do you think it's a deliberate trick that not many people know how to produce their own electricity? I mean do big businesses hinder progress to suit themselves?

I'm a homeowner and our average monthly bill is around $125 give or take $25. I'd love to install a wind turbine if it would work efficiently and cut our costs. I have no clue and would like to avoid days of research and defer to a professional if it is viable cost wise to try this project. I know there may be green grants or special financing available but again have no clue about total costs, pay back venues such as years to return investment and options for even more then one turbine. We are in a bit of a forced wind tunnel because of wall and home placement so we have abundant resources. Any heads up information would be very helpful.

Hi Tonda have a look at our other website and on the links page you might find some help http://www.buildyourownwindturbine.com/index.php/links
